Tony V. Smith

My Story

Master Sargent Tony V. Smith, Retired, served in the United States Air Force from 1978 – 1998. He was assigned to Misawa AB, Japan, Osan AB, Korea, Ft. Meade (National Security Agency), MD, Iraklion AS, Crete (Greece), and returned to NSA for his last 8 years of service. He spent his entire career as an Intelligence Analyst holding most of the highest U.S. Security Clearances which were required for the specialized duties he performed throughout his career. He produced classified reporting instructions for the Balkan Crisis. He held many Supervisory positions throughout his career and was highly commended for his service. Mr. Smith received several medals and was most proud of the commendation received while serving a short combat assignment in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force while assigned to The NSA in 1998 after 20 years of service.
 
 
Mr. Smith is currently the Audio Visual/IT Integration analyst serving The National Library of Medicine/National Institutes of Health (NLM/NIH) for more than 18 years. While day-to-day duties involved room operations and meeting hosting, he is also principally involved in research and development of audio-visual equipment and technologies required to maintain and upgrade all audio-visual systems at the National Library of Medicine. He designed and directed the installation of the 7.1 surround sound system and the upgrade of the digital video production in the main auditorium. Mr. Smith also led the design and integration team for the creation of the Production Control Suite as well as a new upgraded large screen monitor integration in the Library’s Board Room. He has been identified as the primary installation professional at the NLM Lister Hill Center where he is responsible for leading a team integrating all the collaboration conference rooms throughout the buildings that makeup the National Library of Medicine. He also manages projects requiring integration of new collaboration systems throughout NLM.
 
 
Mr. Smith is a certified Audio Engineer with accreditation from The Omega Studios School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences in Rockville, MD. He owns and operates Cisco T Productions, a sound company that provides live sound and DJ services to several clients throughout the DMV. He also provides Production Management services for a couple of regional artists and is sole Front of House engineer for several artists as well. His company, Cisco T Productions, is often employed to provide Live Sound for many events in the DMV. He manages all resources to include the event work schedule, personnel assignments, payroll, and equipment inventory. His company specializes in sound and production services for local and national talent. Services available can be tailored to small, medium, and large-sized venues from local and regional community events to weddings and concerts. He manages staffing for events that range from 50 to 15,000 attendees.
 
 
Prior work experience also included a six-year stint as a Supervisor at United Parcel Service.
